4. Can’t Fight This Feeling
REO’s 1984 album Wheels Are Turnin’ brought another power ballad to the airwaves, “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” The song was the group’s second #1 hit, following “Keep On Loving You” from their 1981 album Hi Infidelity. The song was written by Cronin and remained at #1 on the Billboard Top 100 for three consecutive weeks. It also, unfortunately in some ways, sealed the band’s reputation as a soft rock band. As usual, Richrath plays a beautiful solo in this piece.
