The end
The conclusion of season 4 brought many different endings. Maleficent and Lily were reunited and Lily decided to stick around for a while.
Ursula’s anger and indignation stemmed from loosing her singing voice when she was young, an incident that involved Hook. Fittingly, Hook helped her get it back, and reunite with her father.
Cruella, it turned out, was really just evil. Locked up throughout her childhood, she seemed truly wronged, until we discovered that every time she was let out she murdered somebody. The author fell in love with her, and his love blinded him to her trickery. After he gave her the power to control animals so she would no longer have to fear her mother’s dogs, she stole the quill and ink. When the author caught up with her, she had murdered her mother, her mother’s dogs, and was about to murder him when he was able to use the quill and ink against her.
He fixed it so that she could no longer kill anyone, since that was what she loved most. In the end, there wasn’t anything left for Cruella but to die, and die she did.
Regina’s end was watching helplessly as Emma tethered herself to the darkness to protect everyone from it. Emma’s parting words to her parents were that they needed to figure out how to get the darkness out of her, but this time do it as heroes. She also told Hook she loved him for the first time.
