Will Joe Biden announce plans to run for president in 2016 on The Late Show? That’s what the speculation will be until the Vice President sits down with Stephen Colbert during the former Colbert Report host’s first week at CBS.
The eye network announced today that Biden has been added to Colbert’s Thursday, Sept. 10 lineup. He joins previously announced guests Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and country superstar Toby Keith.
In recent weeks, there has been speculation that Biden is considering running for the White House in 2016, especially as Hillary Clinton has taken recent hits in the polls thanks to the ongoing email scandal.
Biden has served as President Barack Obama’s Vice President for both of Obama’s terms and previously served as Delaware Senator. He did appear on Colbert’s previous show in 2010.
Colbert’s first episode as Late Show host airs Tuesday, Sept. 8, with George Clooney and Jeb Bush as guests. He also booked Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is already running for the Democratic nomination, for the Friday, Sept. 18 episode.
