The Dark Lord of the Sith will not be silenced! Yes, James Earl Jones is still with us, despite what people on the Internet said last week.
The rumor, which is just the latest in a long list of celebrity death rumors started on the web, began with a parody website, notes E! News. Once that link got shared on Facebook, some on the web were tricked.
Thankfully, this is not the case. The 84-year-old actor is with us and still working. He recently started a Twitter page to help promote his latest Broadway show, a revival of The Gin Game. He will also voice Mufasa again in a new Lion King sequel titled The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, which will air in November on the Disney Channel. It follows Kion, Simba’s son and also features the voices of Rob Lowe and Gabrielle Union.
Jones received an honorary Academy Award in 2012. In addition to also being the voice of Star Wars' Darth Vader, he’s known for roles in Dr. Strangelove and Field of Dreams. He’s also a three-time Tony winner.
