Wayne Dyer, the best-selling self-help book author who wrote Your Erroneous Zones, has died. He was 75.

Dyer’s death was announced Sunday by his family on Facebook. They did not give a cause of death.
“Wayne has left his body, passing away through the night,” the family said. “He always said he couldn't wait for this next adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant will enjoy the other side.”
TheWrap reports that Dyer was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in 2009. He did say that he was treating the disease through positive thinking, workouts and “psychic surgery” with spiritualist Joao Teixeira de Faria.
Dyer was born in Detroit in 1940 and grew up as an orphan, notes CNN. That experience helped shape his life and career. After serving in the Navy, Dyer attended Wayne State University. In 1976, he published his first self-help book while teaching at St. Johns University. Your Erroneous Zones put him on the map and helped him create a self-help empire. He went on to write over 30 books.
Dyer was a friend of Oprah Winfrey and often appeared on her show. Winfrey remembered Dyer in a tweet Sunday.
It was always a pleasure to talk to @DrWayneWDyer about life's big questions. He always had big answers.
RIP Wayne. You brought the Light.
