5. Scream 4
Speaking of returning to franchises, Craven decided to return to the Scream franchise in 2011 after an 11 year break, and it immediately became clear that he was still the master. Scream is an interesting horror series in that there is virtually no decline over the four films: each one is a fantastic followup, as they were all directed by Craven. In Scream 4, he keeps the meta humor alive and plays around with the "new" rules of horror for a new generation, poking fun of remakes with a character practically trying to produce her own remake of the original Scream. It's a brilliant sequel, and almost definitely the greatest fourth horror movie ever. This is now Craven's final film, and it's a hell of a note to go out on.
