Amy Duggar, a cousin of Josh Duggar, was surprised by the news that he molested five girls as a teen, just as many of 19 Kids and Counting’s viewers were. She said that there was a time when he did go away, but she never knew why.

Amy, 28, told People Magazine this week that she did not know about it. “It took me by surprise,” she said.
“I knew that he did go away for a little bit, but I didn't know why,” Amy, a niece to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, told People when asked about Josh going to therapy.
Four months ago, InTouch Weekly reported that Josh molested five young girls as a teen. He admitted that it was true and it was reported that two of his victims were his sisters Jill and Jessa. In July, TLC finally cancelled 19 Kids and Counting.
Amy, who is planning her wedding, told People that she was not one of Josh’s victims. “I wasn’t anywhere near any of that,” she said.
TLC is not completely done with the Duggars. Jill and Jessa will be featured in a special documentary about child sexual abuse called Breaking The Silence. The network announced last week that the hour-long special will air on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 10 p.m.
Amy was at the center of a controversy herself in January when it was rumored that she was born out of wedlock. She later confirmed on Instagram that it was true.
