9. The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927)
Alfred Hitchcock gave the German Expressionists a run for their money with The Lodger, a film loosely inspired by the Jack The Ripper story. It’s creepy beyond belief and possibly one of the scariest silent horror films. You can watch the film in its entirety below.
