Brooklyn, John Crowley
On the surface, Brooklyn looks like a fluffy romantic story about a young girl torn between two worlds: forward-thinking ‘50s Brooklyn and the traditional Ireland. But Saoirse Ronan has a chance to really knock it out of the park here. Although she’s been busy, she hasn’t garnered Oscar attention since her supporting role in 2008’s Atonement. Brooklyn will be screened in Toronto and in select theaters on Nov. 6.
