9. Greg Gumbel
Once upon a time, Greg Gumbel was selling medical supplies until his brother Bryant told him about a sports reporter job opening in Chicago, and that’s pretty much how his career began. He was then hired at ESPN in the early days when the network was launched in 1979 and was there through 1988. Today, he is one of the most recognizable personalities in the industry.
