Though all the Star Wars excitement is currently focused on The Force Awakens, the first spinoff movie Rogue One also sounds pretty incredible. We're now learning some fascinating new details about the plot of the film.
According to Bloody Disgusting, the main villains of the movie will be bounty hunters hired by Ben Mendelsohn's Moff character, and that will include none other than fan favorite character Boba Fett. Their mission in the film will be to retreive the stolen Death Star plans. In addition to Fett, the other bounty hunters will be Bossk, Dengar, Zuckuss & 4LOM, IG-88, and Cad Ban.
And that's not all. Once he finds out the Death Star plans were stolen, Darth Vader himself will be making an appearance in the film, according to Birth Movies Death. It doesn't sound like he'll be a huge part of the movie like he was in the original trilogy, and he'll more be doing things behind the scenes. But we will indeed get more of Vader on the big screen very soon, which is pretty mind blowing to imagine.
As we previously reported, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will take place before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, following the Rebellion’s plot to steal the Death Star plans.
The film will star Felicity Jones as the main lead. It will be directed by Godzilla's Gareth Edwards and released on Dec. 16, 2016.
