See ‘The Muppets’ presentation reel that convinced ABC executives (Video)

Even before ABC gave the show the greenlight, The Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady and Anger Management’s Rob Kushell put together a presentation reel to prove that a new Muppet show was plausible for television. The network has finally made that reel public after showing it to the Comic-Con audience earlier this month.

The reel was made earlier this year, with Wilfred’s Randall Einhorn directing. As reported back in April, the 10-minute reel is about Kermit trying to convince Miss Piggy to sign on to the show in order to get the greenlight from ABC. There’s also a surprise celebrity cameo in there.

Much of the footage isn’t new though. Much of it did end up in the May trailer. Still, it does show the promised “adult” side of the Muppets. The full scene with Fozzie and his human girlfriend is particularly funny. (As is the gaga about Fozzie needing to change... when he only wears a tie.)

Simply titled The Muppets, the new show will air on Tuesdays, paired with Fresh off the Boat. You can check out the whole reel below.
