Just as Irrational Man hits theaters, Parker Posey has joined the next Woody Allen movie in the works for 2016.
The casting was first reported by Deadline. As per usual, nothing is known about the film while it is in production. Allen hasn’t even released a title for it yet.
In addition to Posey, the new film will star first-time Allen actors Kristen Stewart, Bruce Willis and Blake Lively. Jesse Eisenberg, who starred in 2012’s To Rome With Love, will be reteaming with Allen.
Despite being an indie favorite, Irrational Man is Posey’s first role in a Woody Allen movie. “I always felt like I belonged in his movies, so it made sense to me,” she recently told USA Today. “Especially having worked with independent directors, it's like, 'That's the last man standing. He's still doing it.’”
Irrational Man hits theaters in Los Angeles and New York this weekend and has already been met with mixed to negative reviews from critics. The film, which also stars Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix, will go wide on July 24.
As for Posey, she was recently seen in Ned Rifle and on TV in Louie, Inside Amy Schumer, Granite Flats and Portlandia.
