New ‘Batman v Superman’ photos highlight meeting between superheroes... and Lex Luthor's hair

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still eight months away, but new photos from the set of the film give us a clearer idea of where director Zack Snyder is taking the DC Comics universe.

The film is the cover topic for Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con issue and the magazine also posted a gallery of photos.

There are six photos and a few of them show scenes that were not in the April teaser. One shot looks like it could be a panel from The Dark Knight Returns, with Batman - wearing some heavy armor - starting at Superman (Henry Cavill). Another image shows Superman in the middle of a mob.

Ben Affleck is also seen outside of the Batman costume as Bruce Wayne, tangling with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, at a high-society function. Jesse Eisenberg is also seen in another shot as Lex Luthor with hair. Eventually, the character will go bald.

Lastly, one photo shows Batman next to the Bat-signal and another shows Affleck being directed by Snyder.

“He’s on the verge of being swallowed up by the anger and the rage that we see haunt this character in the other manifestations of it,” Affleck told EW about the new Batman he plays. “But this guy is further down the line and has become more embittered and cynical.”

Still, it does look like there is way too much content that Snyder has to squeeze into one film. In addition to introducing a new Batman and Wonder Woman, Aquaman (played by Jason Momoa) is supposed to be in it. Then, he also has to lay the groundwork for future DC movies, including the Justice League two-parter he’s supposed to direct. Hopefully, the final produce has some sort of cohesiveness.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice doesn’t hit theaters until March 25, but the movie will be represented at Comic-Con next week.
