Emma Stone had to explain Twitter to Woody Allen (Video)

Emma Stone has made two Woody Allen movies already, so she probably has some pretty good stories about working with the legendary filmmaker. While she was on Conan last night, she shared a pretty good one.

Stone, 26, doesn’t have an official public Twitter account, but she certainly knows what the social network is. So Allen asked her about it and she had to explain how it works. So Stone told him the basics and noted that even author Joyce Carol Oates is on Twitter.

Allen said that he knows her personally, of course, and Stone read one of Oates’ tweets. “tragedy plus time is comedy,” the tweet read. Allen dismissed it, noting that it was a line from his film Crimes a
nd Misdemeanors
.

Stone and Conan O’Brien agreed that Allen should probably be on Twitter so he can share new one-liners. Of course, that seems highly unlikely. He reportedly still types up his screenplays on typewriters and has already voiced regret for agreeing to make a television series for Amazon.

Allen’s next film, Irrational Man, hits select theaters this weekend and pairs Stone with Joaquin Phoenix. Stone also starred in Allen’s 2014 film, Magic in the Moonlight.
