Rachel McAdams, who is currently working on proving to the world that she can play super serious in HBO’s True Detective, is reportedly being offered a big role in Doctor Strange.
McAdams’ casting is just a rumor from Heroic Hollywood at this point.
According to the site, she will take the female lead role in the new movie, although what that part will be is unclear. CinemaBlend suggests that McAdams could play Clea, the niece of Strange’s enemy Dormammu. She ends up betraying Dormammu and becomes Strange’s ally.
Doctor Strange will finally introduce the mystical aspects of the Marvel universe to the movies and is being directed by Scott Derrickson. Benedict Cumberbatch is starring in the title role, along with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tilda Swinton. The script was penned by Jon Spaihts and the film opens on Nov. 4, 2016.
Derrickson is currently preparing the film for production in London. He didn’t tweet anything about McAdams’ possible casting and neither has Marvel.
McAdams can currently be seen in True Detective and was last seen on the big screen in Aloha. She also stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Southpaw.
