This is kind of a weird one, because the original film version of Pete’s Dragon is hardly a great musical. Weirdly enough, David Lowery of Ain’t Them Bodies Saints fame is directing a new film based on the Seton Miller short story. Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard, Karl Urban and Wes Bentley will co-star with a Dragon. It opens on Aug. 12, 2016.
