One particular crow must really love America. Photos published this week show a rare sight, with a crow actually riding a bald eagle in the air.

Phoo Chan caught photos of the bizarre incident in Seabeck, Washington and shared them with The Daily Mail. The photos show the crow landing on the eagle while it was in mid-flight. The crow stuck the landing and even flapped its wings while the eagle was gliding.
However, the scene lasted just seconds. Eventually, the crow must have remembered that it also has wings and can fly by itself.
“At first I thought the crow was going to chase away the eagle,” Chan told the Daily Mail. “I have seen crows harassing a hawk by swooping back and forth in order to drive it away from their territory. I was completely awed to see the crow actually land on the back of the flying eagle.”
Chan said that it looked like the eagle didn’t mind at all.
“Eventually the crow flew away and the eagle continued to hunt for its breakfast. They both flew in different directions and it looked like they became friends,” he said.
This is just the latest example of an animal hitching a ride on the back of another. Last month, a photographer in Florida snapped a picture of a raccoon riding an alligator. Let’s just hope this isn’t a sign that animals are ready to take over the world... or maybe it’s just some elaborate promotional tactic for Disney’s Zootopia.
