‘Star Wars’: Mark Hamill loves Amy Schumer’s GQ sexy photos

Lucasfilm and Disney might not have been happy with Amy Schumer’s GQ photo shoot with Star Wars characters, but Mark Hamill sure loved the photos.

Last week, GQ released Schumer’s cover photo shoot, in which she’s seen wearing the Princess Leia slave outfit from Return of the Jedi. She also poses with C-3PO, R2-D2, Stormtroopers and Chewbacca. Executives at Lucasfilm were probably really stunned by the photo of Schumer in bed with our favorite droids.

“It’s not surprising that GQ would want to capitalize on the cultural cachet of Star Wars, but Lucasfilm and Disney did not authorize, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner,” Lucasfilm said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films, gave the photos his approval though. He joked that Schumer should be cast in Star Wars: Episode VIII. “Got excited when I saw @amyschumer @GQMagazine pics & thought she was just cast in Ep 8! We should be so lucky,” he tweeted.

Schumer’s magazine cover capped off a successful week for the comedian. Inside Amy Schumer nabbed a few Emmy nominations and her first film, Trainwreck, grossed over $30 million at the box office this weekend.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on Dec. 18.
