Sarah Palin slams liberal media for going after Duggars but not Lena Dunham on sibling abuse

Sarah Palin lashed out at her favorite target - the liberal media - on Facebook, claiming that they are going after the Duggar family over Josh Duggar’s abuse of his siblings but went easy on Lena Dunham.

The former Alaska Governor posted a lengthy message on Facebook, which begins - in all capital letters - “HEY LENA, WHY NOT LAUGH OFF EVERYONE'S SEXUAL ‘EXPERIMENTS’ AS YOU HAUGHTILY ENJOY REWARDS FOR YOUR OWN PERVERSION? YOU PEDOPHILE, YOU.”

While Palin isn’t defending Josh Duggar’s sexual abuse of his younger siblings and another young girl, she writes, “but I’m sickened that the media gives their chosen ones a pass for any behavior as long as they share their leftwing politics.” She explained, “Case in point, they suggest Lena Dunham's sexual assault on her sibling is cute, and she's rewarded for it with fame and fortune. Meanwhile, they crucify another, along with an entire family.”

Palin wants the media to focus on the leak of private documents by “a politically motivated law enforcement official” rather than the wrongdoings of Josh Duggar.

She went on to equate the two situations, even though they are different cases. “Such obvious double standards applied to equally relevant stories underestimate the wisdom of the public, discredit the press, and spit on the graves of every American who fought and died for the press's freedom,” Palin wrote.

Palin also linked to her daughter Bristol’s blog, where she asked, “Let’s Get This Straight, Liberals – What Kinds of Molestation are Acceptable?"

Josh Duggar admitted to molesting multiple young girls as a teen, including his sisters. In Dunham’s case, she wrote about giving her sister candy in exchange for a look at her vagina as a toddler. The incident did get media coverage and Dunham was forced to write a long essay about how she does not condone abuse. She also asked a conservative site to apologize for writing that she sexually abused her sister.

“The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really f--king upsetting and disgusting,” Dunham wrote in a series of tweets in November. “And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid's vagina, well, congrats to you.”
