Rachel Dolezal insists she isnt white, says there's no proof of who her parents are

In addition to her Today Show interview Tuesday, Rachel Dolezal also sat down with NBC Nightly News’ Savannah Guthrie for another interview. This time, she insisted that she is “definitely” not white and said that there is no proof that Lawrence and Ruthanne Dolezal are even her biological parents.

In the interview with Guthrie, Dolezal said that there she did not take a DNA test, adding that there is “no biological proof” that they are her parents, even though they are the ones who outed her last week. When Guthrie noted that Lawrence and Ruthanne had shown her birth certificate, Dolezal stumbled over her words. She noted that the certificate was issued a month and a half after she was born and that there was no witness to her birth.

“I’m not necessarily saying that I can prove that they’re not [my parents],” Dolezal said. “But I don’t know if I can actually prove that they are.”

She later said that she is “definitely” not white, adding, “Nothing about being white describes who I am. I'm more black than I am white. That's the accurate answer from my truth."

Dolezal also revealed that she is bisexual and that her race has come up while dating. “"I'm bisexual. And so, you know, I've dated men and women. And I will intentionally ask, like, 'so do you just date light-skinned women? What's your spectrum?" she said.

In her previous interview with Matt Lauer, Dolezal said that she identifies herself as black. She also felt the need to change her appearance after she gained custody of one of her adopted brothers, Isiah, since he is African-American.

Dolezal was the president of the NAACP chapter in Spokane, Washington. She resigned on Monday.
