1. Emma sacrifices herself
In the final episode, the Apprentice manages to extract the darkness from Rumple and trap it in the Sorcerer’s hat, but it breaks free. Emma, Hook, her parents, Regina, and Robin are trying to figure out what to do when the darkness descends on Regina. Emma freaks out and tells everyone there’s only one way to stop it, re-tether it to a human soul. Regina protests profusely, but Emma is determined that Regina will have a happy ending. So, even though Emma sacrificed herself to protect everyone from the darkness, she also sacrificed herself specifically for Regina. You can’t ask for much more of a demonstration of love than that.
