Neil Young has released a statement condemning Donald Trump for using his song “Rockin' In The Free World" while announcing his presidential run on Tuesday at Manhattan’s Trump Tower.

Young has reacted publicly, stating Trump was “not authorized” to use his song. He also pledged his support to Bernie Sanders.

"Donald Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' In The Free World' in his presidential candidacy announcement," his rep said in a statement to Fox411. "Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America."

As we previously reported, Trump made his announcement in his trademark colorful fashion, using the slogan “Make America Great Again!”

“We need somebody that literally will take this country and make it great again. We can do that,” he said. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again."
