'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation' preview to play before ‘Terminator Genisys’ in IMAX

If you plan on going to see Terminator Genisys in IMAX and hope to see Arnold Schwarzenegger first, don’t be alarmed when Tom Cruise pops up on the screen. That’s because Paramount will be showing a preview of the new Mission: Impossible movie before the new Terminator this weekend.

Paramount announced Monday that a five-minute preview of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation will be screened at 363 IMAX screens before Genisys. That’s about as long as the extended preview of Marvel’s Ant-Man that was shown before some Jurassic World IMAX screenings.

Rogue Nation finds Cruise once again playing Ethan Hunt and the IMF group has just been shut down. However, Ethan and his team know that there are still dangers and work with British agent Isa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) to stop a rogue nation, even though she has a dangerous past.

The supporting cast includes Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Alec Baldwin. Christopher McQuarrie wrote and directed the film. It is produced by Cruise, Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger.

Early screenings for Genysis start tonight. Rogue Nation hits theaters (in full) on July 31.
