Marshawn Lynch might not be that animated when he does press conferences, but he was certainly ready to be animated by the game designers responsible for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The Seattle Seahawks running back will be a featured character in the new Activision and Treyarch game.

Lynch is a big video game fan and has loved Call of Duty since he was in college. In an interview for ESPN the Magazine, the NFL veteran said that he still plays battles with his current and former teammates since “it's a cool way to keep in contact” and to “let off some stress.” And, of course, he figured out a way to work in his trademark “Best Mode” phrase.
“You're shooting up everything but always fighting for a bigger picture,” he said of the game. “The whole game is Beast Mode.”
Lynch’s transformation into a video game character is the cover story for the eSports Issue of ESPN The Magazine. Later in his day at the Activision studios, Lynch even got to test out the gameplay.
“Marshawn Lynch is the perfect match for Call of Duty,” Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg told ESPN. “I mean, he's a guy who fills stadiums, crushes competitors and has a Beast Mode. What could be more COD than that?”
The running back’s love of video games was on display even while the Seahawks were supposed to be getting ready for the Patriots for Super Bowl XLIX. Conan O’Brien challenged Lynch and the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski to a video game match.
