Florence + The Machine’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is the new Billboard 200 album chart champion, debuting at No. 1. It’s the British group’s third album, but first No. 1 record.
The album finished its first week with 137,000 album units moved, with 128,000 of that number coming from actual album sales, Billboard reports.
How Big is the third album from the Florence Welch-fronted group and features the single “What Kind Of Man,” which has peaked at No. 7 on the Hot Rock Songs chart. Their previous albums - Lungs and Ceremonials - peaked at No. 14 and No. 6, respectively, on the Billboard 200.
Since there are apparently some music fans who still don’t have a copy of 1989, Taylor Swift’s album came in at No. 2 with 66,000 units. A$AP Rocky’s At.Long.Last.A$AP, which topped the chart last week, fell to No. 3 with 50,000 units.
Jason Derulo's Everything Is 4 started out at No. 4 with 37,000 units. However, only 22,000 of that was actual album sales. Maybe he should name his fifth album Everything Is 1.
The only other new release in the Top 10 this week is Django and Jimmie by country legends Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. The album moved 31,000 units (only 1,000 of that number came from streaming and downloads, proving that their fans still come out in force to buy albums).
