Since Ben Affleck is a director anyway, Warner Bros. is reportedly considering hiring him to direct himself in a new Batman movie. The film will be the first solo Dark Knight movie as part of the new DC Cinematic Universe set up by Man of Steel.
Affleck’s incarnation of Batman will debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, but of course Warner Bros. isn’t going to just want him to make appearances in Superman and Justice League movies.
So, Latino Review is reporting that Affleck is being considered to direct The Batman, which Warner Bros. hopes to release in November 2018 (the same month Marvel’s Captain Marvel opens). Chris Terrio, who won an Oscar for writing Affleck’s Argo and worked on Dawn of Justice, will write the new movie and is also working on the Justice League movies.
Latino Review also had some details about the new Green Lantern, suggesting that Chris Pine isn’t being considered for just a romantic lead in Wonder Woman but also as Hal Jordan. Tyrese or Common are being considered for John Stewart, another Green Lantern.
Collider previously reported on Tuesday that DC’s solo Green Lantern movie might not be a “solo” movie at all and will focus on the entire intergalactic space corps.
We should hear more about all this speculation next month at San Diego Comic Con.
