7. Angry Birds
From Columbia Pictures we have Angry Birds, an animated comedy hitting theaters next summer. It’s based on the video game series of the same name that involves nothing but flinging birds across the screen to knock things over. Unlike Tetris, these games at least have some semblance of characters, and it’s enough of a blank slate that the studio can basically do whatever they want with the story line. Given how popular the game is with kids, this movie is basically Columbia just printing money.
The movie actually has a pretty insane cast including Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Danny McBride, Keegan-Michael Key, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Hannibal Buress and Jillian Bell. Wait, could this actually be good?
