5. Awkwardness
Sheldon and Leonard’s mothers are very different, evident by how dismissive Beverly is of Leonard’s accomplishment and his engagement. She also doesn’t have much tolerance for Mary’s constant religious comments. Leonard begins to feel annoyed when his mother pays more attention to Sheldon, causing him to call Sheldon a “dirty mother suckler.”
