4. Whites/Asian American Doll/Blazer/Dudley’s– Various Episodes
I know this looks like a bit of a cop out having four sketches listed in one spot and perhaps it is. It is my list after all and I can list however I want! But there really is some method to my madness as all four of these skits managed to deal with the dangerous topic of race while still being smart and funny. All four of these sketches tackle the subject differently, but all four are well worth a watch. I’ve often complained that Saturday Night Live skirts hard-hitting issues in favor of flash-in-the-pan pop culture references and for a long time the show was way too toothless, but we’ve seen a nice turnaround this season. And this is proof.
