The new spin-off series from the same DC Comics universe shared by The Flash and Arrow now has a title. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was among a trio of new shows that The CW put in season orders for.
Legends of Tomorrow began in January as a potential Atom series, starring Brandon Routh as the title character. However, in February, more recurring actors from The Flash/Arrow shows joined. In March, Ciara Renee was cast as Hawkgirl.
The show will also feature Wentworth Miller, Victor Barger, Caity Lotz and Arthur Darvill. Greg Berlanti, an executive producer on the other shows, plans to introduce three DC Comics characters who have never been seen on television, either in live-action or animated shows.
According to Zap2It, the other shows that got series orders for the 2014-15 season are Crazy Ex-Girlfriend with Rachel Bloom and Cordon with David Gyasi, Christina Moses and Chris Wood.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is actually a bit of a surprise since it was originally developed at Showtime. Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) is directing the pilot and the series centers on a woman who gives up a promising career at a law firm to go on a romantic adventure in West Covina, California.
Cordon is set in Atlanta, where an epidemic breaks out. The city is quarantined off and officials are on the hunt for a cure. Hopefully, they can also solve the zombie outbreak in The Walking Dead’s Atlanta.
In other CW news, Hart of Dixie and The Messengers have been cancelled.
