Paul Walker tribute: 15 best 'Fast & Furious' Brian O'Connor scenes

5. The Fast and the Furious - The final scene when he races Dom and lets him go:

After Brian and Dom deal with vengeful members of the rival Tran crew who've just killed Dom's friend, Brian goes after Dom. When he catches up to him, Dom challenges him to a drag race through a railroad crossing — which becomes the second of many races between them. Brian accepts and the two take off, each in cars that come to be their trademarks — Dom with the black car that belonged to his father, sleek and tough-looking with a commanding presence, Brian with a flashy, colorful Hot Wheels-type vehicle. They both barely make it past the train and Dom gets injured in the resulting accident and his car is totaled, As sirens go off in the distance, Brian looks at Dom and instead of arresting him, hands him the keys to his car. When Dom questions him, he just says he owes him a ten-second car — which becomes a franchise-spanning joke.

This is the touchstone of all the films that came after, as it left the door open for the story to continue. Thus it became a bigger moment, the moment that Brian chose Dom over everything he knew, setting Brian's life on a different path, forever connecting it with Dom and his world. It's the moment that allowed one simple film to become the surprise hit franchise it is today.
