Paul Walker tribute: 15 best 'Fast & Furious' Brian O'Connor scenes

7. The Fast and the Furious - His first street race:

He decides to race to get Dom's attention, so he talks game, betting his car and saying that if he wins he gets the prize money and respect. In that moment Dom seems to see something he likes in Brian, as does Mia. He earns points with the crowd as well, because of his car.

As the racers line up, Brian is nervous but optimistic, talking himself up for victory. During the race, you can see that even though he's pretending to be a racer for the sake of a police job, he loves it.

When he gets out afterward, everyone's ready to tease him about coming in second and his busted car but he handles it well. He smiles and when Dom asks him why he's smiling, he says one of his best lines of the series: "Dude, I almost had you." The crowd loves it but Dom responds by telling him what he did wrong. Even though he should be embarrassed, Brian seems to take it all in happily, the criticism, the street talk and the crowd reaction.

Besides it being just a flat-out entertaining scene, it's when Brian is first shown amid the world he comes to belong to, so the significance is tremendous, making it even better.
