8. Love is a weapon
This is a concept that Rumple has set forth from the beginning of the show, and Cora echoed with her comments that “love is weakness.” The quote “love is a weapon” is used explicitly in the episode “The Apprentice” when Rumple manipulates Ana into helping him obtain the sorcerer’s hat.
The line is then used again in the episode “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” in reference to a time Rumple said it to Hook. Hook now tells Belle that he thinks Rumple was right, and adds his own panache to it, “Love is a weapon as dangerous and persuasive as magic.”
