Montel Williams had plenty to say about Josh Duggar being investigated for sexual abuse allegations and his belief that his family covered it up, calling him hypocritical for calling the LGBT community a danger to children.
He has commented on the scandal on his Twitter and Facebook pages, even answering several Facebook users who commented on his post.
“BREAKING: Josh Duggar, a world class bigot, admits sexually abusing young girls - has consistently stated that LGBT folks r danger to kids,” he first tweeted. “Another anti-gay alleged 'Christian' defender turns out to be a garden variety scumbag.”
He continued to call the eldest Duggar a “slimebag,” calling the family in general a “scam.”
“Yup, Gay people are the danger to kids? NOPE, JOSH DUGGAR IS,” he wrote.
Williams, whose daytime show was popular in the ‘90s, also cleared up that his reaction is based on the “hypocrisy of claiming #lgbt dangerous to kids with his history” rather than the “allegation itself.”
Williams defended these statements numerous times on Facebook and wanted to drive the point home that it's Duggar's religious “bigotry” that makes this scandal so shocking.
“This tends to happen with those who are extreme in their anti-gay bigotry - they all end up learning why it's a bad idea to throw stones from a glass house. That he did this while preaching about Christian values makes me wonder if he has read the Gospel. If he did, he has a reading comprehension problem,” he wrote on Facebook.
Duggar has since apologized and resigned from his post at the Family Research Council.
