Authorities in Florida have said that George Zimmerman, the man who was acquitted in the 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, was involved in another shooting in Lake Mary.
WFTV reported that Zimmerman was shot in the face during an apparent altercation with a fellow motorists Monday morning, but his injuries only appear to minor.
Police have not released many details about the shooting only saying that there were no fatalities and the incident is currently under investigation.
As previously reported, Zimmerman has had several run-ins with the law since he was acquitted in Martin’s death two years ago. The 31-year-old has been accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend with a firearm, allegedly destroying his ex-wife’s property and has been pulled over several times for traffic violations.
Despite not being able to stay out of trouble, Zimmerman has managed to escape jail time since his exes either refused to cooperate or recanted their stories. He has not been charged in any of the alleged incidents.
Furthermore, the Department of Justice announced earlier this year that it would not bring charges against him for the death of Martin.
