A&E’s first family, the Robertson clan from Duck Dynasty, has suffered a setback when it comes to their Las Vegas musical The Duck Commander Musical.
The family first confirmed the musical was in negotiations back in Nov. 2014. It finally came to fruition this year but it seems ticket sales were disappointing.
According to Playbill, the musical was set to go through June 30 but it's being closing early. The new closing date is May 17.
The Duck Commander Musical, a 90-minute show, began production at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on April 15.
The musical is based on Willie and Korie Robertson’s book The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family, and Ducks Built a Dynasty and it’s directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun.
"Much has been learned from this limited engagement, and from the great support from everyone who has come to see this first staging of this completely new musical,” a rep for the musical’s production said in a statement.
“Duck Commander will now consider several possible opportunities for the next stage in the life of the show, including extended sit-down engagements in interested cities, as well as a national tour."
