Avengers: Age of Ultron has been doing incredibly well at the box office since its release a few weeks ago, and the film has just hit a major milestone.
According to Box Office Mojo, Age of Ultron is now the sixth highest grossing film of all time. That means it has just beaten Frozen and Iron Man 3 for total worldwide gross.
However, though it's weird to call $1.2 billion disappointing, Ultron is still falling behind the first Avengers, which totaled $1.5 billion worldwide. Ultron has some time left in theaters to catch up and pass its predecessor, but the movie also hans tons of competition in the next few weeks including Jurassic World on June 12.
Still, Ultron has hit a bunch of major box office milestones. For international gross, even by its opening weekend Ultron passed the original movie's international gross by 44 percent, as we previously reported. The movie made $201 million opening weekend when it was playing in only 26 countries.
In fact, the vast majority of Ultron's gross has consisted of international sales, with an international gross of $866 million.
