6. “A Case of You”
“A Case of You” is from Mitchell’s 1971 album Blue, which quickly found its way to the No. 15 spot on Billboard’s album charts. On this recording of “A Case of You,” Mitchell is playing the Appalachian dulcimer while James Taylor, whom she was dating at the time, accompanies her with acoustic guitar.
In 2011, listeners of the BBC Radio 4’s program “Desert Island Discs” voted Mitchell their #1 top female artist and “A Case of You” their #1 top track by a female artist.
