Mitchell’s 1974 album, Court & Spark, signaled her experimentation with jazz and jazz fusion. The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard album charts and No. 1 in Canada. This was Mitchell’s most successful album. “Raised on Robbery” was released in late 1973. The song imparts a rock and roll beat and the use of electric guitars.
