1. “Tears in Heaven”
“Tears in Heaven” has to be the most beautiful yet painful song Clapton has ever written. He wrote the song, with the help of Will Jennings, for his son who died in a tragic accident, falling from a 53rd story window, when he was 4 years old. The song was featured in the 1991 movie Rush and on Clapton’s 1992 Unplugged album. It won an MTV Video Music Award in 1992 and three Grammy awards in 1993.
