3. Peter Sarsgaard – actor
From superhero flicks to Shakespeare shows, Peter Sarsgaard has appeared in numerous roles. Some of his most famous include the loving but confused father in Orphan, the mutated scientist in Green Lantern and the cultured but creepy suitor in An Education. After being diagnosed with Lyme disease twice, Sarsgaard wrote an open letter to support those with the illness for Lyme Research Alliance. In it, the actor spoke about a friend who had Chronic Lyme disease and gave hope to those suffering: “I hope that the great minds in our scientific community can come together to help us find consensus and clarity. And to help us understand how to identify and begin to heal this disease.”
