Sorry, Sharon Osbourne, but VH1 no longer has interest in telling your family’s story. The network has cancelled plans to reboot the reality TV series The Osbournes.
Sharon first revealed in November 2014 that Ozzy, Jack and Kelly would join her for an eight-episode mini-series to catch fans up on what their lives have been like since 2005. A week later, Vh1 stepped in to announce that it would air the new series.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the series is dead.
“We are no longer talking to the Osbournes about a series; that's not going to happen,” Susan Levison, the executive VP of original programming at VH1, told THR Monday. “We wish we could have worked it out, but it just didn't come together for us. The family has been absolutely lovely and we wish them the best. We'd love to figure out a way to work with them at some point in the future.”
Apparently, the series wasn’t that far along. After THR broke the news, Kelly tweeted that she had never agreed to do a new show for VH1.
The Osbournes probably don’t need a series to tell fans what they have been up to since their legendary MTV show ended. Kelly has remained a personality on TV, although she did leave E!’s Fashion Police in February. Sharon is still a co-host on CBS’ The Talk and Jack has made occasional appearances on other reality shows. As for Ozzy, the rocker continues to tour and perform.
As much as u love #VH1 the last time I checked I never signed up to doing a show w/ them! #Weird
