The cast of Disney's live action Beauty and the Beast is growing larger every day, with Stanley Tucci now set to star in the film.
According to Variety, Stanley Tucci has closed a deal to join Beauty and the Beast. Unlike most of the other actors who have joined so far, Tucci will be playing a completely new character: a grand piano named Cadenza, described as "a neurotic maestro."
In recent years Tucci is known for his role as Caesar Flickerman in The Hunger Games, but he has also appeared in movies such as he Lovely Bones, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award.
Tucci is the latest to join the cast of the live action film after Ewan McGregor, who just signed on to play Lumiere, as we previously reported.
Beauty and the Beast will star Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, and Josh Gad as Le Fou. It will also star Audra McDonald as Garderobe. The movie will be directed by Bill Condon.
This is another classic movie that Disney is adapting into a live action feature. The studio also released Cinderella last month, and they also have The Jungle Book, Mulan and Dumbo in the works.
Beauty and the Beast will be released on March 17, 2017.
