Robert Downey Jr. walks out on journalist's interview when asked about his past (Video)

Promotional tours for movies have resulted in countless awkward interviews, but Channel 4 reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy has a habit of getting really awkward interviews. His latest was with Robert Downey Jr., who was clearly expecting a softball interview about Avengers: Age of Ultron. But it turned into something much different.

For a good six minutes, the interview was casual, but then Guru-Murthy decided to ask Downey about the “dark periods” of his life, including his battle with drug and alcohol addictions. The actor is clearly starting to get annoyed and Guru-Murthy starts stammering.

Downey then gets up, says “Bye” and starts to leave. As he gets up, Downey pats Guru-Murthy, who begins apologizing.

“It’s OK... it’s just getting a little Diane Sawyer in here,” Downey says as he leaves the room.

Guru-Murthy seemed to enjoy the fact that he made Downey uncomfortable. He tweeted a link to the interview with the comment, “A steely moment from Ironman.”

The British journalist has a habit of getting celebrities annoyed. In January 2013, he got Quentin Tarantino frustrated when he asked about violence in his films, a topic Tarantino was obviously tired of facing. “I am shutting your butt down,” Tarantino told Guru-Murthy.

Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1.
