Even 'Twin Peaks' cast can't think of series revival without David Lynch (Video)

While it may look like a quickly made plea from fans to get David Lynch to direct the Twin Peaks revival, a new video begging the filmmaker to return actually features members of the show’s original cast. It surfaced on YouTube today and shows Twin Peaks’ supporting cast imagining how awful it would be without Lynch.

The two-minute video features many of the actors and actresses taking selfie videos. As The Telegraph notes, the video features Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn, Madchen Amick, Peggy Lipton, James Marshall, Kimmy Robertson, gary Hershberger and Catherine E. Coulson. They all appeared in the original beloved cult series and were clearly crushed by the idea that the Twin Peaks revival might not happen.

Over the weekend, Lynch dropped the bombshell news that he was not able to make a deal with Showtime. He was set to direct all nine episodes of the new series, but tweeted that “not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.”

Showtime is still hoping to get Lynch and still wants to do the series. The network originally announced the project in October and confirmed in January that star Kyle MacLachlan was going to return. It all sounded like it was set in stone already, but that clearly wasn’t the case.

Showtime aimed to launch the new series in 2016.
