Derek Hough injured during 'Dancing with the Stars' rehearsals, might have ligament damage

Derek Hough was injured while rehearsing for Dancing with the Stars and his friend and co-star, Mark Ballas, kept fans updated.

Hough was rehearsing for the 10th Anniversary special of the show when he injured his toe and ankle on Monday. He might even have ligament damage.

“Long night in the ER with @derekhough nothing worse than seeing a fellow dancer get hurt especially your brother. But he had me @bcjean & @corkyballas there by his side. #fam,” Ballas wrote in a post of Hough in a wheelchair.

A source told E! News Hough could’ve sprained his ankle and broken his toe.

Hough was rehearsing for a special dance with his former partner Maria Menounos when the injury took place. Menounos told E! he hit his toe on a hard piece of equipment then hurt his ankle by falling down the stairs right after.

Menounos posted a photo of the staircase on Instagram and wrote, “Really angry at this stupid stair for hurting our @derekhough out last night. Ugh....#DWTS #DWTS20#badstair #menough ??”

Hough’s partner this season is Nastia Liukin.
