Derek Zoolander’s son will make an appearance in Zoolander 2 and now we know who will play him.
Stiller posted a photo on Instagram, announcing that child actor Cyrus Arnold will play the “Son of Derek” in the new film. Arnold re-posted the photo on his own Instagram page to confirm the news. “It's out!!! I am playing Ben Stiller's son in Zoolander 2!! So happy to share the news with all of you!!” Arnold wrote.
Arnold’s other credits include episodes of Sam & Cat, About A Boy and Richie Rich. He’s also appearing in a sci-fi movie with Sharlto Copley called Hardcore.
Derek Zoolander’s son was introduced at the very end of Zoolander. Considering that it was released back in 2001, it makes perfect sense for the son to be around 14. Let’s hope Arnold can do the “Blue Steel” look, too.
Stiller and Owen Wilson formally announced the new film in March, when they walked the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week during the Valentino show in character. Paramount also said that the film will hit theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
