The Avengers will be assembling at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards to honor Robert Downey Jr.
MTV reported that Downey will be given the Generation Award at the ceremony and his Avengers co-stars will be presenting him with the honor.
Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner are all scheduled to appear at the awards and they are bringing a clip for fans of their latest film, Avengers: Age of Ultron. This clip will only be seen at the MTV Movie Awards.
Stephen Friedman, President released a statement on why they have chose Downey to receive this honor. "Throughout his career, Robert Downey Jr. has mesmerized audiences by capturing the humanity in larger-than-life characters like Charlie Chaplin, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark. He’s a brilliant actor and a Hollywood icon, and we are proud to recognize his tremendous passion and talent with this year’s Generation Award," said Friedman.
Downey will be joining some of Hollywood's A-list actors who have received the generation award, including, Mark Wahlberg, Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on May 1st and two new cast members have just been announced, according IGN. Julie Delp and Linda Cardellini will be appearing in the film.
