'Avengers: Age of Ultron' already scoring at overseas box office after just two days

While North America won’t get to see Avengers: Age of Ultron for another week, audiences overseas are already having a blast with the Marvel superhero blockbuster. The film has made $4.8 million from 26 markets after just two days.

Ultron will already be in 55 percent of foreign markets this weekend and opened on Wednesday in many countries. The film had a huge Wednesday in South Korea, grossing a whopping $4.9 million and making up 96 percent of the filmgoing market, notes THe Hollywood Reporter.

The U.K. was the film’s top-grossing market on Thursday, grossing $5.4 million there.

In France, the film got off to a $4.4 million two-day start, reports Variety. It made $3.7 million in Russia and $3.4 million in Brazil and Australia each.

Ultron is expected to make at least $160 million before it even opens in the U.S. and Canada on May 1. It is expected to break the $200 million opening weekend mark set by 2012’s The Avengers.

The 2012 film made $1.5 billion globally, with $895.2 million of that from foreign markets.
